Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 16 and located in a jurisdiction covered by the GDPR, you must have verifiable parental consent. By registering, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2.1 One account per person. Operating more than one account — whether under your own name or through a proxy — is prohibited.

2.2 You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2.3 We reserve the right to suspend or permanently delete any account at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms.

3.1 You may not gain an unfair advantage by any means, including but not limited to:

• Using multiple accounts, shared accounts, or alt accounts to manipulate resources, battles, trade, alliances, or any in-game system.
• Using automated scripts, bots, macros, or other tools to interact with the Service without human input.
• Exploiting bugs, unintended mechanics, or server-side errors. Discovered exploits must be reported and not abused.
• API abuse, credential stuffing, or unauthorized access to other users' accounts.

3.2 Violations may result in warnings, resource rollbacks, temporary bans, or permanent account deletion depending on severity and recurrence. We reserve the right to take corrective action on any in-game state affected by a violation.

4.1 You may submit nation names, descriptions, flags, and other content ("User Content"). You retain ownership of original content you create.

4.2 By submitting User Content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content as part of operating the Service.

4.3 User Content must not include:

• Sexually explicit imagery.
• Content that impersonates real individuals or organizations in a misleading way.
• Content that is otherwise illegal in the jurisdiction of the server or the user.

4.4 We may edit or remove any User Content at any time without prior notice.

5.1 The Service is free to play. Donations and premium subscriptions are voluntary and are used solely to support hosting and development.

5.2 All payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

5.3 Premium status does not exempt you from these Terms. Violations may still result in suspension or permanent ban without refund.

5.4 We reserve the right to change, suspend, or discontinue premium features at any time. Where a paid subscription is affected by a material change, we will provide reasonable advance notice.

6.1 The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime and are not liable for losses resulting from downtime, data loss, or service interruption.

6.2 NationsEngine is a living game. We may alter game mechanics, resource balances, nation stats, or any other in-game system at any time as part of ongoing development. No in-game asset or balance is guaranteed to remain unchanged.

6.3 We may discontinue the Service at any time. In the event of permanent shutdown, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice.

All software, artwork, game logic, and other materials comprising NationsEngine — excluding User Content — are the property of the developers and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, redistribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without express written permission.

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other players inside or outside of game mechanics.
• Coordinate with other users to systematically target a single player in a manner designed to force them off the platform rather than as legitimate gameplay.
• Share or post another user's personal information without their consent.
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without prior written approval.

9.1 We collect only the minimum data needed to operate the Service: your username, hashed password, email, and gameplay state. We do not sell your data to third parties.

9.2 You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

9.3 For users in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data under GDPR. Contact us to exercise these rights.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users of material changes.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that state.
